As we stand at a critical crossroads in the history of humanity, we must confront a growing menace that threatens our very existence: the manipulation of our food systems. In recent times, particularly in South Africa and across the African continent, a disturbing trend has emerged where the sanctity of organic food and farming practices is being undermined by profit driven agendas. The so-called "innovative agriculture," touted by some as a means to maximise yields, is, in fact, a euphemism for compromising the quality of our food in favour of quantity.
